Today Sustainable Aviation (SA) has announced the appointment of Dan Walker as its new Technical Director.  Dan is a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) with an interest in sustainability, particularly with regard to climate change. He has built in-depth knowledge of the technical and legal requirements of the travel and transport sector, specialising in aviation, especially with regard to carbon mitigation work programs and corporate social responsibility reporting. His previous experience of working in sustainability at two UK airlines (Thomas Cook and Jet2.com), regulating aviation emissions in the EU ETS and contributing to writing the monitoring, reporting and verification scheme for CORSIA at the Environment Agency, alongside local authority pollution control regulation experience focussed on noise and air quality, has given Dan a broad knowledge base in many areas of environmental protection and sustainability. He will bring all of this experience to Sustainable Aviation and ensure that we make positive strides across our cleaner, quieter and smarter workstreams.

Duncan McCourt, Sustainable Aviation CEO, said:

“I’m delighted that Dan has joined Sustainable Aviation as our new Technical Director. He is exceptionally well qualified and motivated to continue to develop the technical excellence that SA has become known for. The aviation industry has already made significant progress on the journey to Net Zero, but there is a long way further to go and I look forward to working with Dan to help deliver a genuinely sustainable future for aviation.”
