Sustainable Aviation is governed by a Council, which comprises representatives drawn from the signatory organisations. The Council agrees the strategy and work programme for Sustainable Aviation on a biennial basis. The Chair of the Council is currently Matt Gorman.

Reporting to the Council is a Working Group, on which sit individuals and representatives from organisations involved in developing and delivering the various work streams agreed by the Council for each two year period.

Also reporting to the Council is a Communications Group, which is responsible for the publication of SA papers, wider engagement with SA member companies and providing a voice for SA within the wider policy debate.

A Stakeholder Panel of recognised sustainability experts provides rigorous challenge to the Council and the work programme facilitated by the Working Group. The Stakeholder Panel meets independently, and on a regular basis with the Council in order to track progress against the goals.
